The late arrival of The New Yorker is especially annoying when, like last week, there is a piece similar to Seymour Hersch's that every talking head/blog is commenting on day's before it makes its way to my Somerville home. I finally read that Iran article last Wednesday and thought, "I remember Chris Matthew's mentioning this on Monday." If I didn't get the subscription renewed every Christmas by my mother (truth), I'd just as soon grab it from my local newsstand.

i've always wondered about this regarding my own subscription to the new yorker. when i worked at b&n, it always irritated me that i was essentially reading the entire new yorker on my lunch break before it arrived at my doorstep. if anything, subscribers should get their issue before the general population.
